Today (well, yesterday, since it's past midnight), we held the seitansai for Tanaka Miku who turned 13 on September 12th.
実は、矢吹よりも誕生日の遅い田中美久は、HKT48の最年少。
By the way, since her birthday is later than Yabuki, she's the youngest in HKT.
“HKT48"九州7県ツアー〜可愛い子には旅をさせよ〜、熊本公演の前夜のことを話したい。
I want to talk about the night before the performance of HKT48's Kyushu 7 Prefecture Tour ~Kawaii Ko ni wa Tabi wo Saseyo~ in Kumamoto.
HKT48では当時、メンバー内でインフルエンザがまん延していた。
At the time, the flu was spreading among the members in HKT48.
代わる代わるメンバーがダウン。
One by one, the members got sick.
田中美久もその一人となった。
Tanaka Miku was one of them.
今回、ツアーの目玉の一つ。
出身地のメンバーをフューチャーする企画があった。
At the time, one of the centerpieces of the tour
was to feature members born in each prefecture.
各地への恩返しの意味もあり・・・。
In a sense, it was also to thank each prefecture for their members in HKT48.
当然、熊本出身の田中美久にもその場面を用意していた。
やっと念願叶っての熊本出身者。HKT48に加入し、期待も大だった。
Naturally, it was also arranged to highlight Tanaka Miku, who was born in Kumamoto.
Finally, her wish as a Kumamoto resident was also coming true. Joining HKT48, her expectations were also high.
そんな矢先だった。
我々スタッフはやむなく田中美久の出演の変更を覚悟していた。
This was right on the cusp of the concert.
We staff were reluctantly resigned to having to change Tanaka Miku's performance.
医師からは完治。
本人次第で出演の了解は得ていたが、昨日まで高熱が続き、体力的にもかなりの消耗をしているであろう小さな身体の12歳。
本人へ、最終的な出演可否を確認に自宅を訪ねた。
The doctor cleared her to perform, but it was up to Miku herself to decide whether to appear or not. Up to the day before, she had had a high fever and the physical strength of that small 12 year old body was exhausted.
Finally, to confirm with her personally, I went to visit her at her home.
アパートの部屋の奥から飾りもせずにパジャマ姿で現れた。
She came out from her room in the apartment in her pajamas without sprucing up first.
開口一番、強い目力で『出演をさせてほしい！』と訴えてきた。
With her strong eyes conveying her emotions, the first thing out of her mouth was, "Please let me do the performance!"
まさにこの瞬間、50歳近い私と、12歳の田中美久に年齢差はなく、対等にプロとしての会話が成り立った。
In that instant, although I'm approaching 50 years old, the age difference between the 12 year old Tanaka Miku and I disappeared. We had a conversation as equals, as professionals.
私も、数多くの会話をそこでした覚えは無い。
すぐに看病でそばに付き添っておられた田中美久の祖母とも確認をし、最終的に御両親の了解も得て出演を決めた。
I don't remember much else from there.
Soon after, I discussed it with her grandmother who had been taking care of her as well as her parents and with their understanding it was decided to let the concert continue.
翌日、ご存知の通り、地元の大声援を受けて「♪シンクロときめき」を歌い出演を果たしている。
当然、病み上がりとは関係なく、完成度の低いまだまだのパフォーマンスではあったが・・・”グッと”くるものがあった。
The next day, as you know, her performance was Synchro Tokimeki was well-received with loud cheers from her fellow residents.
Naturally, regardless of her state of recovery, the level of performance was still lacking but...there was something that grabbed my heart.
アーティスト写真を撮る際も、決して妥協は許さない。
カメラマンと積極的に話し、それを探求するその姿にプロ意識を垣間見る。
Even when it was time to take pictures, she never allowed herself to give in.
Seeing her trying to interact and talk with the cameraman proactively, I caught a glimpse of the professionalism in her.
この原石を上手に輝かせたい。
I want this raw ore to shine brilliantly.
誰にもそう思わせる能力を生まれながらに兼ね備えている。
She naturally has the ability to make others feel the same way.
そう感じる。
That's the sense I get from her.
田中、おめでとう！！
Tanaka, congratulations!!
